Quicken 2007 Manual Updates (Win)

Before upgrading your Quicken software to a new version, update your current version to the latest release.

Before updating:

• Check if you already have the latest update. Choose About Quicken from Quicken's Help menu, located near the top of the Quicken screen. If you see Release R5 below the Quicken logo, your program is already up-to-date.
• Verify that the Quicken program (QW.exe or Quicken Launcher) has full and unrestricted access to the Internet. Refer to your firewall documentation or contact your firewall provider if you need assistance verifying this.
• Pause or temporarily disable all virus scanning and Malware protection for at least 15 minutes before starting the update process. Although this may not be necessary, there are times in which some anti-virus and malware protection agents can interfere with the Quicken update process. Please use this measure if problems occur while updating. 
  
• Make sure you have completed all previous online sessions (if you use transaction download or Billpay. If you don't use either of these, go directly to step 1 below). From Quicken's Online menu, choose Online Center. Click Update/Send. If your last online session was not completed, you'll see the message Your last online session was not completed. Quicken will now try to complete this previous connection. After it is done, you can send your new request. Click OK to complete your previous connection. Once the connection is complete, you are ready to update.

If you don't use transaction download or Billpay, you can go right to downloading the manual update:

1. To download the manual update, click here (7.02 MB).
2. Choose to Save the file, then browse to your desktop and save it there.
3. From your desktop, double-click the newly downloaded file Qkn2007R5.exe (if using Windows Vista, right-click the file and choose Run as Administrator even if logged in as administrator).
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.
5. When finished, follow the instructions at the top of this article to ensure that Quicken has been updated to Release R5.
