Quicken prompts you to set up a new security whenever you enter a transaction for security name that is not already in your Security List. Follow the on-screen instructions.
You can manually add a stock, mutual fund, or other security to the Security List.
If you want to manually add a bond (U.S. savings, corporate, Treasury, municipal, other), Employee stock option grant (ESOG), Employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), or Certificate of Deposit (CD) to the Security List, see the specific instructions to do so.
Note: Recording a transaction in Quicken does not execute a real-world trade, transfer, or other transaction. Contact your broker to execute trades or transfers, and then manually record the transactions in Quicken-better yet, download them directly from your participating financial institution.
