When installing a downloaded version of Quicken 2014, you may have encountered the message This program might not have installed correctly.
If you proceed by selecting Reinstall using recommended settings, you will be presented with a second message An error has occurred while installing Quicken 2014 and Sorry! Quicken cannot be installed because your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements.
This message was displayed in error.
What do I do?
Since this message was displayed in error, the best option would have been to select This program installed correctly. You would be able to open Quicken without any further delay.
However, if you selected Reinstall using recommended settings, follow the instructions below.
For Windows XP 32-bit SP3, Windows 7 or Windows 8, and 8.1
For Windows Vista
Identify the Installer Settings
If this still fails, try your installation in Selective Startup Mode
If this still fails, we would need to see the Install logs generated by these installation attempts. Their location would be C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Quicken\Log\Installer. You can copy the entire Installer folder to your desktop, right-click and choose Send To > Compressed Folders to zip the folder all together and make it easier to attach to a Support Request. Then go to Contact Quicken Support and attach that zipped log folder to your request.
Windows XP 64-bit
Windows Vista does not have an option for compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3.
