Update Transactions and Balances From Your Bank

Updated: 6/14/2013 | Article ID: GEN82537

Once you've set up your bank and investment accounts and, if your updating your acccount online, you'll need to keep your account balance information current.  How often you do this is up to you.  Some banks limit how many times a month you can get updates and there may be a 24 hour delay between what your bank posts and what they make available for download.  It will depend on how often your banks update your financial information and how often you reconcile your accounts, etc.

The easiest way to keep your accounts up-to-date is to use One Step Update - a single, secure, access point for all online activated accounts.

  • Update the latest cleared transactions and balances for online-enabled bank, credit card, investment, and 401(k) accounts.
  • Send pending and recurring payments, cancel payments, or update payment status instructions, as long as they are supported by your bank.
  • Simplify reconciling your monthly statements.
  • Send pending online transfers between accounts at the same financial institution.
  • Download transactions and send online payments for multiple accounts.
  • Download security quotes.
  • Get product updates for your Quicken software.

If you have questions about your downloaded transactions or about any of your holdings and balances (for investment accounts) contact the financial institution directly.  In some cases you can send an e-mail to them from the Online Center (select Tools menu Online Center).  If supported, you'll see and E-mail tab.  Click on it, then click Create to get started.
