Updated: 12/07/2011 | Article ID: GEN83626

Quicken 2012 for Windows may not display recently added or changed financial institution (FI) names.  We are aware of this issue and are working on a resolution.

Current Work-around:

  1. Close Quicken.
  2. Open a Window's Explorer window (right-click the Start button, choose Open Windows Explorer or Explore Windows)
  3. Confirm that you are able to View Hidden Files & Folders to find the branding folder.
    1. Windows 7 & Vista: Organize > Folder & Search Options > View tab > Show Hidden Files & Folders
    2. Windows XP: ools > Folder Options > View tab > Show Hidden Files & Folders
  4. Locate the FIDir.txt
    1. Windows 7 & Vista: C:\Program Data\Intuit\Quicken\Inet\Common\Localweb\Banklist\2012
    2. Windows XP: C:\Documents & Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\Quicken\Inet\Common\Localweb\Banklist\2012
  5. Right click FIDir.txt and choose Properties.
  6. Uncheck Read Only.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Open Quicken.
  9. Perform a "blank" One Step Update in Quicken by unchecking all boxes on the One Step Update Settings window and clicking Update Now.
