Overview

Quicken is unable to identify the account in Quicken to which your downloaded information belongs.

Quicken is unable to identify the account in Quicken to which your downloaded information belongs. This could be because the account at your financial institution is closed, or because the account number or nickname was changed on the financial institution website.

Instructions

Update to the latest release of Quicken

  1. Choose Tools menu > One Step Update.
  2. Deselect all items, and then click Update Now.
  3. If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to update to the latest release.
  4. Try updating your accounts again. If the problem persists, continue with the procedures below.

Refresh your account information

  1. From your account register:
    • In Quicken 2013: Select the Actions gear icon at the very top of your register (Ctrl + Shift + N)
    • In Quicken 2012 and older: click on Account Actions
  2. Then select Update Now.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
  4. If the problem persists, continue with the procedures below.

If the account number or nickname was changed on the financial institution website, deactivate and reactivate online services for the account

  1. Open the account register and accept any downloaded transactions.
  2. Choose Tools menu > Account List.
  3. Click the Edit button next to the account name.
  4. In the Account Details window, click the Online Services tab.
  5. Click Remove from One Step Update, and then click Yes to deactivate online services.
  6. Click OK when prompted to confirm your choice.
  7. Back on the Online Services tab, click Activate One Step Update and follow the on-screen prompts to activate online services for this account.
  8. Go to your account register and click Account Actions > Update Now. This will refresh your online setup information.

If the account was closed, deactivate it from future online updates

  1. Choose Tools menu > Account List.
  2. Click the Edit button next to the account you want to deactivate.
  3. In the Account Details dialog, click the Online Services tab.
  4. Click Remove from One Step Update to stop downloading transactions for this account.

If the problem persists

Contact Quicken Support for assistance. Your financial institution cannot resolve this issue.
