Last File Opened Not Recognized When Starting Quicken

Updated: 8/11/2011 | Article ID: GEN82971

When opening Quicken, your data file may not open as it normally does; instead, it may ask, "What do you want to do?" while giving you three options.

This is a known issue and will be resolved in a future release of the program.

To work around this issue:

  1. Right click the Windows Start button & choose Explore (or Open Windows Explorer).
  2. Browse to your data file.
  3. Right click your file and choose Send To > Desktop (Create Shortcut).
  4. Double-click the new shortcut icon on your desktop to launch Quicken with that data file.

Note: If you have multiple data files that you use, choose the data file you use most frequently to be the "launch" file.
