WaMu accounts moved to Chase (Quicken Online)

Updated: 10/30/2009 | Article ID: 7344

Washington Mutual accounts were moved to Chase Bank on a state-by-state basis.

If you hold a WaMu account in one of these states, you'll need to add your accounts again to Quicken Online under the Chase name. This is the timeline for when updates from WaMu accounts to Quicken Online stopped:

  • May 22 — ID, UT, OR, WA
  • July 25 — CT, FL, GA, IL, NY, NJ, TX
  • October 19 — AZ, CA, CO, NV
  • October 25 - All mortgages

If your account is held in one of these states, you can add your new Chase accounts to Quicken Online.

Note: The Transactions page for each of your WaMu accounts may have this message: "WaMu has become Chase. Please click here for next steps." If you've already followed those steps to add your new Chase account, skip down to the section in this answer called "What should I do about duplicate transactions?".

How do I add my Chase accounts to Quicken Online?

  1. Go to Chase Online to access your account. You'll need to accept the Chase Online Legal Agreement.
  2. Sign in to Quicken Online.
  3. Go to the Accounts page and click Add Account.
  4. Choose Chase Bank from the list of financial institutions.
  5. Enter your Chase User ID and Password and click CONTINUE.
  6. Fill out the remainder of the Add Account interview as usual.

Your Chase account in Quicken Online should now include your WaMu transactions from the last 90 days. This means you'll have two sets of transactions for that period of time.

What should I do about duplicate transactions?

It depends on whether you want to keep tracking your WaMu transactions older than 90 days in Quicken Online.

  • If you do want to track them, you can delete one set of your transactions. (To delete a transaction, select it from the Transactions page and click the Delete button.)
  • If you don't want to track them, you can hide your old WaMu account from the Trends page. (To hide the account, go to the Accounts page and uncheck the account in the Include in Trends column.)
