The investment seeks to provide current income and, as a secondary investment objective, capital appreciation. The fund invests primarily in a combination of Schwab Funds® and Laudus Funds (the underlying funds) in accordance with its target asset allocation. It has the flexibility to move within the following asset allocation ranges (under normal market conditions) at the discretion of the investment adviser: 0%-25% equity; 60%-100% fixed income; and 0%-15% cash and cash equivalents. The fund is designed to offer investors a targeted annual payout of 5-6%. The targeted annual payout for the fund is based on historic yield environments over a ten year period.
