The basic investment objective of the Fund is to achieve capital apprecistion over the medium and long term and a higher return than the S&P/TSX Index. The fund invests primarily in a diversified portfolio of stocks and income trusts of mostly large cap, dividend-paying Canadian companies. The manager seeks to generate added value by selecting dividend-paying stocks that offer the best investment opportunities; he uses a bottom-up approach to choose companies with the best potential, and a top-down approach to control risk in terms of sector positioning.
